AC Tune-Up · Aurora, CO
AC Tune-Up in Aurora, CO
FLAT FEE [TBD] · ~60–90 MINUTES · WRITTEN HEALTH REPORT
Every July we run the same calls: dead capacitors, clogged drains, systems that "just stopped cooling." Almost all of them were preventable in April. A tune-up is the cheapest service call you'll ever buy.
What's included
Not a "21-point inspection" sales visit
Some shops use tune-ups as an excuse to sell you a new system. Ours is actual maintenance — and you get a written health report with real measurements at the end.
- Condenser coil cleaning. Front Range dust storms cake coils every summer; a dirty coil is the #1 cause of weak cooling we see.
- Refrigerant charge check. Superheat/subcooling measured — low charge caught before it eats the compressor.
- Capacitor & contactor testing. The two parts that die most in July, tested under load in April.
- Condensate drain flush. Cleared and flow-tested — no more water pooling in the utility room in August.
- Blower wheel & motor inspection. Amperage draw checked against the nameplate.
- Evaporator coil inspection. Accessed and visually checked for fouling or freeze damage.
- Thermostat calibration. Verified accurate within 1–2 degrees; wiring tightened.
- Filter check & replacement guidance. Right size, right MERV, right schedule for your house.
- Electrical connections tightened. Loose lugs arc, overheat, and fail on the hottest day.
- Written health report. Measurements, photos of anything concerning, and an honest remaining-life estimate.

Timing
March, April, May — that's the window
In Colorado, the first real heat usually lands in late May or June — and the week it hits, every HVAC shop in the metro is booked solid with breakdowns. The homeowners who tuned up in April get two things: problems found while they're cheap, and a tech available on their schedule, not the emergency queue.
Running October through February? Your system has been sitting all winter. Dust, insects, and one freeze-thaw cycle on that capacitor. A spring startup check is the difference between a smooth first hot weekend and a panicked Saturday call.
[TBD] spring visit vs. the average July emergency repair — plus a summer of lower electric bills from a clean coil and correct charge.
