Swamp Cooler Repair & Maintenance in Aurora, CO
SPRING STARTUP [TBD] · PAD CHANGE [TBD] · WINTERIZATION [TBD]
Not ready to convert? Fair enough. We'll keep your evaporative cooler running right — spring startups, pad changes, mid-summer rescues, fall winterization — and we'll tell you straight when the math flips toward central AC.
The seasonal cycle
Four visits a year keeps the box alive
Spring startup APR–MAY
De-winterize, inspect the pan and pump for freeze damage, install fresh pads, check the float and water line, test the motor and belt, and verify airflow. The visit that prevents the first-heat-wave panic call.
[TBD]
Pad change AS NEEDED
Aurora's hard water eats pads fast. Musty smell, weak cooling, or visible scale — that's pads, and new ones transform the unit. We stock the right sizes for the common rooftop boxes in 80011.
[TBD]
Mid-summer repair JUN–AUG
Dead pump, seized motor, snapped belt, stuck float flooding the pan — the failures that always pick the hottest week. Same-week service, quoted in writing before we climb up there.
DIAGNOSTIC [TBD]
Fall winterization OCT–NOV
Drain the pan, shut off and drain the water line, cover the unit, protect the roof curb. Skipping this is how pumps crack and lines burst over winter — the most expensive "free" savings in HVAC.
[TBD]
What's included
A real service, not a pad swap
- Pads inspected or replaced. The right thickness and material for your unit — not whatever was on the truck.
- Pump tested under load. Weak pumps starve the pads; we catch them before they die in July.
- Float valve adjusted. Too high floods the pan; too low starves the pads. Set to spec.
- Motor & belt checked. Belt tension and wear, motor amperage, bearing noise.
- Water line & distribution tubes cleared. Hard-water scale is the silent killer — flushed, not ignored.
- Pan cleaned and treated. Standing-water grime removed; the musty smell usually lives here.
- Roof curb & flashing eyeballed. We tell you if the curb the unit sits on is deteriorating — that's a roof conversation worth having early.

The honest funnel
When we tell you it's time to convert
We'll maintain your swamp cooler as long as it makes sense. But we'll also tell you — in writing, on the service report — when it stops making sense: the unit is 12+ years old, repairs are stacking up, the roof curb is failing, or you're just done gambling on August humidity. When that day comes, here's the full picture:
